BEF Sponsors Adaptive Strongwoman Alana Walker on Her Journey to the World Stage
The Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) is proud to announce its sponsorship of adaptive strongwoman and powerlifter Alana Walker, helping support her as she competes at the highest levels of disabled strength sport. The partnership reflects our commitment to championing people within our wider community whose determination, resilience and ambition inspire others.
Alana, who has lived with cerebral palsy all her life, has overcome challenges that would stop many people in their tracks. Through years of hard work and determination, she has developed into one of the UK's leading adaptive strength athletes, building an impressive competitive record in just four years of powerlifting and strongwoman training.
Her sporting achievements have been remarkable. Alana came 2nd at East Midlands Strongest in 2023 and is currently ranked second in the UK in the Seated 3 class.
Notably, Alana’s most recent achievement saw her breaking not one, but two world records - 201kg seated 3 deadlift and 51.4kg seated 3 sandbag to shoulder.
She recently competed at the GB Disabled Strongman competition, where she set her sights on breaking world records, and later this year will travel to Phoenix, Arizona, to compete at the Static Monsters World Championships.
Behind her success is a strong support network, including coach Alicia Curtis, who took on Alana as her first disabled client. Their partnership has been built on mutual learning, adaptation and trust, with additional support from sports therapist Kynan Pike, helping Alana develop her competitive performance.
While her achievements on the platform are impressive, Alana's greatest passion lies in inspiring others within the disabled community to challenge expectations and pursue their goals.
Alana's ambitions are far from complete. Her immediate goals include breaking world records and continuing to compete successfully on the international stage.
At BEF, we believe success is about more than business. It is about investing in people, supporting communities and helping individuals realise their potential. This sponsorship demonstrates our commitment to backing people who make a difference and to supporting success wherever we find it.
We look forward to following Alana's journey over the coming months and sharing updates as she continues to compete on the national and international stage. Everyone at BEF wishes her the very best as she prepares for the Static Monsters World Championships later this year.
