BEF are proud to be shortlisted in the 2019 National Enterprise Network Awards

We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Enterprise Support Organisation of the Year (over £750k).

The National Enterprise Network (NEN) awards celebrate excellence in the delivery of enterprise support, and encourage the exchange of good practice and the development of improved services and organisations.

The Enterprise Support Organisation of the Year Award recognises organisations that have worked hard to establish or maintain recognition and impact within their local communities this year.

Alex Till, Chairman, National Enterprise Network said: "The organisations featured on the 2019 National Enterprise Network Awards shortlist have all clearly demonstrated excellence in the delivery of enterprise support or work taking place in educational settings which are focused on embedding entrepreneurial spirt and enterprise into this environment."

Steve Waud, Chief Executive, BEF said: "We’re delighted to have been shortlisted as we are all about development, growth and meeting the needs of entrepreneurs in the North of England. As a Responsible Finance lender with a strong socio-economic purpose, we are proud of the support we have delivered to the under-represented yet tenacious SMEs across the North. In the last financial year alone, we supported 331 clients, helped launch 175 new businesses, helped create or safeguard 820 jobs, and added £31m of economic benefit to the regional economy. Further, 36% of our loans supported female-led businesses."

Alex Till continued: "It was clear from all of this year’s entries that there are some fantastic enterprise initiatives and truly dedicated individuals within the network. We’ve always been proud of the work of our members and wider network and congratulate everyone who has been shortlisted. We look forward to announcing the names of the category winners in November."

Winners will be announced during a dedicated awards ceremony at the NEN Annual Conference on Friday 22nd November.

The full shortlist is available on the National Enterprise Network website.
