BEF named as a top social enterprise within the UK
The NatWest SE100 Index recognises BEF for the support it gives to the communities it serves.
BEF is one of the top 100 social enterprises in the UK,
according to this year's NatWest SE100 Index. The index celebrates the growth,
impact, leadership and resilience of social ventures in the UK – naming the
most impressive 100 social enterprises of the year.
The 2019 NatWest SE100 Index was revealed at 2019 NatWest
SE100 Awards which took place in London on Thursday 28 March.
The NatWest SE100 Index is produced by Pioneers Post, the
leading social enterprise magazine, in partnership with NatWest. Since 1998,
NatWest has had a specialist Community Finance team that run programmes and
partnerships to promote community businesses across the UK. It is a proud
co-founder and lead-sponsor of the NatWest SE100, which has become a leading
market-intelligence tool for social enterprise.
Simon Jacobs, chief administration officer at RBS/NatWest,
said: “We are once again proud to support the NatWest SE100, recognising and
celebrating the most inspiring social businesses in the UK, all of whom, in
various ways, support the communities in which we live and work.”
“I’m delighted that BEF has, once again, been recognised for helping
businesses throughout the North of England to thrive, grow, and impact their
communities,” said Stephen Waud, CEO at BEF. “We continue to increase our social
impact by supporting businesses and social enterprises with finance for good.”
