Doug Heseltine achieves banking gold standard

The young Investment Manager continues to show his commitment to personal development and professionalism.

Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) today announced that Doug Heseltine has been promoted from Associate Investment Manager to Investment Manager following his successful completion of the Advanced Diploma in Banking and Leadership in a Digital Age (formerly the Chartered Banker qualification) from the Chartered Banker Institute.

Having achieved the Institute’s gold standard qualification, Doug is set to become a member of the Institute which entitles him to use the professional designation Chartered Banker. Being a Chartered Banker demonstrates expertise, and a commitment to personal development and professionalism.

“Doug’s growth is a great example of our commitment to hire and invest in young talent who can enjoy long-term futures with the business,” said Simon Jackson, Head of Investment at BEF.

Over the last nine months, Doug and his Investment Manager team have delivered £12m in loans that added £48m to the region’s economy while helping to create or save over 1,300 jobs. In his role as Investment Manager, Doug will continue to support businesses across West Yorkshire with flexible finance up to £250,000 to help them grow and thrive. This includes the delivery of CBILS-backed loans to those businesses affected by ongoing COVID-19 challenges.

Doug Heseltine commented, “I first joined BEF during a work placement at university. At the time I had no idea that I would progress to helping some of regions most interesting businesses grow and thrive. I am thankful to the BEF team for the support they provided while I clients and complete the Advanced Diploma.”

Keen to repeat Doug’s success, BEF plan to recruit, train and promote another Associate Investment Manager soon.
